A caretaker manages the environment and offers emotional support. I have been a professional and personal caretaker for fifty years. My work presents to a universal audience negative and scary issues that humans have to face. Figurative sculptures and assemblages that are composed as narratives validate the feelings of the viewer and help the viewer understand that negative experiences are common parts of life.

Openly exploring themes of loss, grief, dementia, aging, and societal inequalities create the opportunity to get or give support on these issues and decrease personal isolation. Bringing the darkness into the light by creating visual works dilutes the darkness because the vision is shared with many, rather than staying inside of us.

I am an Artistic Pluralist who will use a variety of styles, materials, and techniques to project my voice as a caretaker. My voices will change as I react to pass and present images in my mind. My one constant is that I want my work to feel like the arms of understanding around the viewer.
